Reclaimed Wood Soap Dish
We partnered with a fabulous maker to bring you these soap dishes. He makes his soap dishes from wood scraps retrieved from one of the largest lumber mills in the Portland area. The mill supplies short mill end pieces that are worthless to them, but are the perfect size for soap dishes. It's a win-win...much better than sending the small pieces overseas where they will be ground up and used for particle board that is sold back to the US.
This soap dish measures 3 inches by 4.125 inches by 1/2 inch thick. The minimal surface area allows for maximum airflow so that the soap dries quickly, significantly extending the life of the soap.
Modern style with sharp squared top edges and finished with clear semi-gloss to brighten and enhance the colors of the wood. Featuring reclaimed wood in Mahogany, Hickory, Cherry and Maple these pallet style dishes are a practical and fun stage for your soap.
A soap dish significantly extends the life of a bar of soap - but did you know that you can also extend the life of your soap dish? Use your soap dishes in pairs to extend the life of the dish - use one dish for 2-3 weeks, and then switch it out with the second dish while allowing the first dish to completely dry out while you are using the second dish for 2-3 weeks. Doing this will prevent mold and mildew from developing and growing on your dish and greatly extend the life of the dish.
